This book addresses some of the fundamental issues born of the several million strong Muslim presence in Europe in our times. Based on a thorough study of Islamic sources, it seeks to answer basic questions about European Muslims social, political, cultural and legal integration. The study shows that it is a possible to lead life as a practicing Muslim while living together in multi-faith, pluralistic European nation states.
TARIQ RAMADAN teaches philosophy (College of Geneva) and Islamic Studies (Fribourg University). Through his several writings and lectures he has contributed substantially to the debate on the issues of Islam in the West and in the contemporary world. He is actively engaged as an expert on Islamic revival and the identity and challenges of Muslims living as a minority.
